Pitsford Reservoir

Pitsford Reservoir fishery in Northamptonshire is a giant 750 acre reservoir dissected by a causeway. This offers a unique experience for fly fishermen eager to beat the record of 15lb 11oz for a Rainbow Trout. Both Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout are stocked on a regular basis throughout the season which runs from March to December.

Black and Green lures do well in the depths of this monster fishery, as to Buzzers and Dialw Bach’s. Natural insect life is abundant despite the vast expense of water that greets toy at Pitsford Reservoir.

What date in the year do you cease fishing.

I will be in Northampton in 3 weeks. I wonder if I would have to book a boat. Also as a visitor can I buy a daily rod licence because we do not need them in Scotland
